Description5 frame wood engraving reproduction taken from drawings and photos furnished by the Ordinance Dept. Page 124 of Harper's Weekly Feb. 21, 1863, hand colored.
Top panel: "The Attack on the Fort", gun boats on the river are approaching fort. Flanked to the left by rear of the fort and to the right by appearance of (?) Gen. silenced by the Cincinatti. Mid level panel, the appearance of the casemates before the attack. Mid right panel, Casemate No. 1, destroyed by gunboat Dekalb. Bottom left panel, Casemate No. 2, destroyed by U.S. gunboat Louisville. Bottom right panel, rear view of Casemate No. 2
