DescriptionA press book for "Looking for Love" starring actor George Hamilton, who lived in Blytheville, Arkansas.

George Hamilton (1939-2012) was an American actor who was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and lived in Blytheville, Arkansas. Hamilton lived in Blytheville until he was eight; his family relocated to Hollywood, California, after the death of his grandparents in 1947. Hamilton won Golden Globes for his roles in “Crime and Punishment” (1959) and “Love at First Bite” (1979). He was a contestant on the second season of the popular reality show “Dancing With the Stars” (2005).

Press books, which were published by film distributors as a marketing ploy, were intended to encourage cinema owners to promote films by providing the managers with a plethora of promotional materials. These materials included plot synopses, behind-the-scenes stories and photographs, movie stills, posters, lobby cards, and life-size cardboard character standees that were intended to be placed in cinema foyers. Press books were most prominent from the 1920s until the end of the 1940s, which was at the height of filmgoing.
