Dear Sir:
It is the desire of the women of Arkansas that the state preserve the historic Old State House, where for nearly three quarters of a century the laws and history of the state have been made. We wish it as a valuable heirloom to be handed down to future generations and where the relics, which are fast disappearing from the state on account of there being no place where they can be preserved, can be kept. Also for a home for our Arkansas Historical Society where they can keep their annals and records. The buildings of our forefathers in the East are preserved as priceless treasures and as such consider our Old State House. It is said that Wisconsin has more maps and carts of Arkansas than we and why? Because they have proper buildings in which to keep them. Arkansas will be able to do it too if we can preserve the State House. Arkansas is way behind the other states in the collection of historical matter and will be until there is a place to keep them and where better a place than the grand old building? As a member of the General Assembly will you please give the matter serious thought and when the petition is presented give it your support, thereby showing your patriotism to Grand Old Arkansas.
Yours truly,
Clara B. Eno
