Van Buren, Ark.

Mr. Hartsill
Representative from
Sebastian Co.

Dear Sir:
I am sending you two printed articles on the preservation of the Old State House. Please consider well before you vote against saving the historic building.
This grand state of Arkansas can surely build the new capitol without the money the old building will bring and in a few years the amount will never be missed nor will it miss what it will take to keep it in repair if asked to do it.
Our state has been remiss in caring for its history. Let us make amends by beginning with this old building. I have traveled extensively in the East and know how they prize their old buildings. I have wandered through the rooms of the Old State House in Boston viewing the rare paintings and other historical relics with a feeling akin to reverance. I am a born Arkansan and am pleading for the Old State House from the bottom of my heart.
Yours truly,
Miss Clara B. Eno
