DescriptionPoster from the 1971 movie "A Gunfight," starring Kirk Douglas and Arkansas native Johnny Cash. The film was produced by Paramount pictures.Johnny Cash was born February 26, 1932, in Kingsland, Arkansas and raised in Dyess, Arkansas. Nicknamed “The Man in Black”, he was a singer/songwriter, actor and author (writing two autobiographies). He acted in both movies and television (including his own variety show, The Johnny Cash Show). Cash died September 12, 2003.
The poster has a red and blue background with black print. The top half of the poster is red and the bottom half is blue. The poster shows large images of Kirk Douglas and Johnny Cash facing each other and preparing to fight. The larger image is encircled by a gun belt -- two pistols are holstered in the front and bullets line the outside of the belt -- that also serves as a minituare ringed stadium with onlookers and two smaller men inside the ring. At the top of the poster is printed, "In Bajo Rio, they pay to see a man kill a bull. / Today, they will pay to see a man kill another man."
