DescriptionPublicity still from the 1971 movie "A Gunfight," starring Arkansas native Johnny Cash with Kirk Douglas. The movie was made by Paramount Pictures.

Johnny Cash was born John R. Cash on February 26, 1932, in Kingsland, Arkansas, and raised in Dyess, Arkansas. Nicknamed “The Man in Black," Cash was a singer/songwriter, actor, and author (writing two autobiographies). He acted in both movies and television (including his own variety show, "The Johnny Cash Show"). Cash died September 12, 2003.

Black and white photographic still shows bearded Cash dressed in all black and wearing a western hat inside a store. Cash is leaning against a counter; a sales clerk in a white shirt with black suspenders is standing behind the counter.
