DescriptionConfederate veteran's uniform belonging to General Richard M. Knox, former commander of the 2nd Brigade Arkansas Division, U.C.V. and former commander of the J. Ed Murray U.C.V. Camp No. 510. in Pine Bluff.

Jacket, Pants and Hat.

Knox was born April 25, 1838 in Milan, Tennessee. He served in Co. C of the 1st Mississippi Cavalry. He served under Van Dorn and Forrest and fought in the following battles: Shiloh, Holly Springs, Corinth. According to an 1897 edition of the Confederate Veteran Magazine, he was never wounded or captured but had two horses shot out from under him.

He was one of the founders of the Confederate Home in Little Rock.

He died in Pine Bluff, Arkansas in 1915.
