DescriptionFramed collage of objects and information. A copy of a pension record for G.W. Edmiston, his Southern Cross of Honor, a photograph of his gravestone and a brass plaque. Edmiston was part Cherokee (tsa-la-gi). He was born on December 23, 1847 He served in Bryan's Company of Cherokee Mounted Rifles. This is a rare Cross of Honor because of Edmiston's Native American heritage. He died November 30, 1924 and is buried in Decatur Cemetery in Decatur, Arkansas.
