DescriptionMember's badge for the Robert C. Newton U.S.C.V. Camp, No. 197 of Little Rock, Arkansas. This camp was one of the earliest "Sons of Confederate Veterans" camps organized in the state and is still active. In 1912, the "U" in U.S.C.V. was dropped and from that time, the organization became known as "S.C.V." The Robert C. Newton camp hosted the 1911 Confederate Reunion in Little Rock.

A red and white ribbon attached to a top pin. A medallion in the shape of the North American continent hangs from the ribbon. On the ribbon in gold lettering: "Robt. C. Newton/Camp No. 197". On the pin is an image of Newton(?) and the word "Member". On the medallion are the words: "U.S.C.V./Little Rock". The southern state on the medallion are painted red. There is a shield-shaped rebel flag at the top of the medallion.
