DescriptionMajor Edmund Joy's shoulder strap insignia. Navy blue wool background with gold thread trimming. Two gold leaves on each end indicate the rank of Major in the Union. The insignia or board is rectangle in shape. Detail of the back of the board reveal yellow thread and a burlap backing. Worn on top of shoulders.
