John Darr was born December 6, 1833. He enlisted in the Confederacy June 20, 1862 at Dover, Arkansas in Co. I, 35th Arkansas Infantry He was discharged for disability in November, 1862. Also served in the 4th Arkansas Calvary, was a prisoner of war at Pisgah Church in Pope County, Arkansas and was confined in 1864 at Little Rock. Darr died on June 13, 1919, in Atkins, Arkansas and is buried in Darr Cemetery in Atkins.
