    Shane Broadway was born on August 30, 1972 in Benton, Arkansas. Broadway was elected to the Arkansas House of Representatives and served until 2002. During his tenure, he became the Speaker of the Arkansas House. In 2002, Broadway was elected to the Arkansas Senate and was subsequently re-elected in 2006. He ran for Lieutenant Governor of Arkansas in 2010, but lost. After losing his campaign, Broadway was appointed to be the interim director of the Arkansas Department of Higher Education. In 2014 he became the Vice President for Governmental Relations at Arkansas State University.
