Andrew J. McRacken was an African-American soldier in the 54th U.S. Colored Infantry. He enlisted in the regiment on Jan. 5, 1863, entering as a 2nd Lieutenant. He was commissioned an officer on May 1 of the same year. He mustered out on December 9, 1863.

He is part of the African-American Civil War Memorial in Washington D.C. His plaque number is C-66.

The 54th U.S. Colored Infantry was an Arkansas unit that was organized from the 2nd Arkansas Infantry. This unit saw service in Arkansas, Kansas and the Oklahoma Territory.
