DescriptionThis is a deck of cards in a two-part cardboard box. The box is red with gold engraving containing the words "World's Fair 1904 official Souvenir playing cards Published & Copyrighted 1904, by Samuel Cupples Envelope Co. St. Louis & New York." on the back and an actual card glued on the front illustrating what the cards inside the box represent. The cards contain a large brown eagle in the center in a beige background with a circle profile of Jefferson and Napoleon positioned underneath the head of the eagle. The eagle is grasping two earths in each claw, one showing the North America continent, the other Europe. A blue ribbon is laced around its neck with the words "Lousiana Purchase Exposition" and "St. Louis" is just below the Jefferson/Napoleon profile as well as "1904" beneath that. The images are surrounded by green leaves with a medium blue background. The cards consist of images of buildings at the fair as well as people in various countries.
