The book is 46 pages of stories and illustrations all by the author. The cover is a photograph of a man in front of a cabin. The caption at the top reads "Now chosen for Hollywood TV film material and acclaimed by thousands as the Ozarks funniest books!" In the forward the author writes “Though I crammed this authentic folklore, Ozark tall tales and factual hill customs, I have used a fictional presentation and fictitious characters." The back cover advertises the authors other publications for sale. Written inside: "To my wonderful family: my wife and pal, Betty, my sons and pardners, Donald and Johnny; my daughter and sweetheart, Katy - I dedicate this book. -Gerald Harrison Pipes Reed Springs, MO January 16, 1956"
