DescriptionU.S. Army Issued mess tin used and decorated by George Fisher during his service in World War II in England. Fisher etched into the front of the cup "Sgt George Fisher 417th Inf. 76th Div." Along with "Arkansas" on the side with a picture of two guns underneath it; and on the other side, a cartoon picture of a man with "Mac" written underneath.

George Edward Fisher was born on April 8, 1923 near Searcy, Arkansas. Fisher was a political cartoonist whose work influenced and helped define Arkansas politics for a generation. In 1943, he was called to active duty with the Army Reserves. Fisher passed away on December 15, 2003 of a heart attack at his drawing board in his Little Rock home.
