    DescriptionAlta’s white, kid leather, open-toe heels with embellished buckles. The shoes were purchased at D.H. Holmes Department Store in New Orleans, Louisiana. The pair of shoes worn by Alta Faubus during the Inaugural Ball celebrating the Inauguration of Orval Faubus as the thirty-sixth Governor of Arkansas in January of 1955

    Celia Alta Faubus was born on August 31, 1912 and she married Orval Faubus in 1931. Alta went on to be the thirty-sixth First Lady of Arkansas when her husband Orval was elected governor in 1955. Alta died on August 9, 2002.
