Photograph has an oval copper frame with decorative filigree.The daguerreotype is a photograph that uses a polished, silver plated sheet of metal for the image. The image can best be seen when held at an angle. It was the first photograph to be commercially successful. The images are fragile and can be easily rubbed off. This photographic process was developed by Louis Deguerre and Joseph Nicephore Niepce.
