DescriptionLouis Jordan poster commemorating Jordan's success as musician and his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He was inducted as an early influence to Rock and Roll. The orange poster has a full image of Jordan with an alto-sax in his right hand. "At The Swing Cat's Ball" is in the top half of the poster. Louis Jordan was born July 8, 1908 in Brinkley, Arkansas. He was an African-American musician, singer and song writer. He briefly attended Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock, majoring in music. Although he could play a variety of instruments, he was best known for his saxophone playing and was nicknamed "The King of the Jukebox." He appeared in and sang in a number of movies over the years. Jordan died February 4, 1975.
