DescriptionEula Terral's gown she wore during the inauguration of Thomas Jefferson Terral as the twenty-seventh Governor of Arkansas on January 13, 1925. The dress is made of cream-colored satin with embellishments in pearls and beads. The sleeveless gown and straight silhouette was the popular style of the 1920s. The dress features armlets on the upper arm and a scoop neckline with a Y-shaped inset. The garment falls slightly below the knee and has a scalloped hemline. The lower half of the dress is heavily embroidered with a medallion design in gold beads, pearls, cut steel beads, bugle beads, and gems. The medallion motif continues down the center front of the dress. The right front panel is ornamented with a water lily design of gems and silver braid with three two and a half inch-long buds reaching towards the hem. This gown was imported from Paris and retailed by B. Altman and Company of New York.

Eula Terral Terral was born on July 24, 1891. She married Thomas Jefferson Terral in 1914. She died on December 30, 1986 and is buried in Roselawn Memorial Park.
