DescriptionA bill of sale listing the eight slaves sold from the estate of the deceased John Wilson Sr. on March 1, 1827, in Lawrence County, Arkansas. The list includes the names of the slaves, the names of the buyers, and the amount paid for each. The total amount paid was $1,830. The list is written in black ink on a rectangular-shaped, unlined piece of yellowing paper.

signed a justice of the peace written & for
the county (?) (?) Crouch who was by James
Campbell and John Wilson administrators of the estate of John
Wilson, Senior employed as clerk of the (?) the personal estate of
said deceased, who being duly sworn, says he is not interested
in the estate of said John Wilson senior deceased nor of kin to any person
interested in said estate and that the above list contains a true
account of the sales made by said James Campbell and John
Wilson Jr. administrators of said estate at the time above stated
and the articles sold the price and the name of the person to
whom sold
