    DescriptionCarte de Visite of St. John's College during the Civil War. St. John's College, opened in 1859, was created and run by Arkansas Freemasons. St. John's was used as a military academy, as well as a hospital during the war.

    Rectangular piece of light brown card stock paper with a smaller rectangular image adhered to the front. The central image is the main building with two castellated towers and a federal flag raised overhead. In front of the building are groups of soldiers performing maneuvers and drills.
