DescriptionPoster from the movie, "Brubaker". The poster's background is a light color and features red, black, and yellow print. It shows various images from the movie including a large image of lead actor Robert Redford, Redford on horseback, Redford kneeling next to a body, a group of men on horseback, two men fighting, and an image of an African-American man holding a rifle. There is barbed wire running from the edges of the poster and stopping at Redford's enlarged image.

Released in 1980, Brubaker is loosely based on the 1969 nonfiction book "Accomplices to the Crime: The Arkansas Prison Scandal" by Joe Hyams and Thomas O. Murton. Murton was hired as a prison warden in the late 1960s to modernize two prison farms in Arkansas: the Tucker State Prison Farm (Tucker, Jefferson County) and the Cummins State Prison Farm (Grady, Lincoln County). The controversial book and movie brought national attention to issues such as prisoner abuse, inhumane conditions in prisons, and the need for modernization. The movie stars Redford, Morgan Freeman, Jane Alexander, and Yaphet Kotto.
