DescriptionOriginal print of Bauxite mine workers in underground tunnel, B/W. Two men are using drill and two using pick axes. Original photograph by Margaret Bourke-White to promote Alcoa and the bauxite industry in the 1936 World's Fair in St. Louis. After the fair, photographs and negatives were given to Alcoa. When Alcoa reorganized several years ago they gave numerous White photographs and negatives to the Bauxite Museum, in Bauxite, Arkansas where they still remain. Attached to black paper matting.Status
