    Edward “Jim Ed” Brown was born on April 1, 1934 is Sparkman, Arkansas. Known for his American country music career, Brown achieved pop fame in the 1950s with his two sisters as members of The Browns. He later had a successful solo career from the mid-1960s to the mid-1970s. His first solo top ten hit, “Pop a Top”, was released in 1967 and eventually became known as his signature song. In 1970 with “Morning”, Brown became a Country music crossover hit with other songs including “Angel’s Sunday”, “Southern Loving”, and “It’s That Time Of Night”. Jim Ed Brown has hosted a country radio show entitled Jim Ed Brown’s Country Place, a television talent show called You Can Be A Star, and participated in Going Our Way, which featured Brown and his wife traveling the U.S. in an RV. He currently lives near Nashville, Tennessee and hosts two nationally broadcasted country radio shows, Country Music Greats Radio Show and Country Music Greats Radio Minute.
