    DescriptionFront: Silk flag with blue field. There is gold silk fringe on three sides of the flag. On the left side of the flag there is no fringe, but strips to hang the flag. In the center of the flag there is an eagle resting on a shield. The words "Freedom for All" are embroidered below the eagle.

    Back: The flag is bordered in blue. There is a white field with a blue medallion in the center. 43rd Regt. Illinois. Vol. Veterans. 1864. A leaf decoration is embroidered below the lettering.

    The 43rd was stationed in Little Rock during the war. They served garrison duty from May, 1864 to November, 1865 and during that time, this flag flew over Little Rock.
