    Michael Dale Huckabee was born on August 24, 1955, in Hope, Arkansas. Huckabee ran for U.S. Senate in 1992 but lost to Dale Bumpers. Huckabee went on to run in the special election for the open lieutenant governor position in 1992 and won. In 1996, Huckabee was sworn in as the forty-fourth governor of Arkansas. Huckabee and his wife currently live in Florida.
