DescriptionA sterling silver handled creamer, attached lid, and swirled finial made by Hyde & Goodrich. Hyde & Goodrich were early Colonial Silversmiths working in New Orleans and New York during the early to mid 1800s. The sugar bowl has a foliate handle and two feet. There is a swirl decoration on the lid handle. "JAJ", the initials of John Augusta Jordon, are engraved on the front of the bowl. This sugar bowl and lid was a wedding gift to Jordon and was inherited by members of the Lorenzo Gibson family and the John Augusta Jordon family. The bottom of the bowl includes a Maker's Mark as well as "Hyde & Goodrich" and "New Orleans".
