    DescriptionLouis Jordan's Martin tenor saxophone, Serial Number 1211333. Some tarnish, but otherwise in good condition. Ligature is included, but mouthpiece is not. Neck-strap is attached.

    Louis Jordan was born July 8, 1908 in Brinkley, Arkansas. He was an African-American musician, singer and song writer. He briefly attended Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock, majoring in music. Although he could play a variety of instruments, he was best known for his saxophone playing and was nicknamed "The King of the Jukebox." He appeared in and sang in a number of movies over the years. Jordan died February 4, 1975.
