    DescriptionRemnant of a brass skin to a cartridge box plate with relief "US” initials. Possibly from Civil War era, particularly considering it was found on Old State House grounds around 1965. The metal is badly tarnished, misshapen, and corroded. The right half of the buckle is missing.
