    Serena Jennie Connett Goodrich was born February 27, 1850 in Hamiliton County Ohio. When she was nineteen years old she married Ralph Leland Goodrich, a school teacher who would later serve as Deputy Clerk for the United States Circuit Court and the United States District Court in Little Rock. She passed away September 14, 1870, two months after the birth of her daughter, Edith. Edith Goodrich later married Mr. Jacob Van Lear.
