Bo Diddley first performed at Barton Coliseum on April 21, 1961, as a part of the "Biggest Show of Stars for '61." Other performers in the show included Fats Domino, Chubby Checker, The Shirelles, The Drifters, Ben E. King, Chuck Jackson, The Shells, and Paul Williams. Diddley also performed at Barton Coliseum on June 17, 1977, with Chuck Berry.
