She has a white hat with a feather and a fur muff on her arm. Handwritten on the back, "Entering house chambers to take oath of office, Jan 1955, Jan 11."

    Celia Alta Faubus was born in 1912 and she married Orval Faubus in 1931. She was a rural school teacher for some time and later went on to become the editor and publisher of the Madison County Record. Alta and Orval had one son, Farrell Faubus. Alta went on to be the Thirty-sixth First Lady of Arkansas when her husband Orval was elected governor in 1955. She divorced Orval in 1969. Alta died in 2002.
