DescriptionBlack and white photograph of Claude King, produced by Joe Taylor Artist Agency. King is in a suit- a jacket with black trim and a black split tie, white shirt and a white hankerchief in his pocket. A curtain is in the background. This was part of the music collection purchased from John Montique.

Claude King (1923-2013) was an American country music singer and songwriter, best known for his 1962 song “Wolverton Mountain”, a million selling hit based on a real person that lived on Wolverton Mountain north of Morrilton, Arkansas. In 1981, Arkansas Governor Frank D. White paid tribute to King by declaring August 7 “Wolverton Mountain Day”.
