    DescriptionA plaster plaque depicting democratic candidates, Alfred E. Smith and Joseph T. Robinson, for the 1928 presidential election. Smith is depicted on the left wearing a suit and tie, and Robinson is on the right, also wearing a suit and tie. A donkey, the democratic symbol, is between the men with a star above its head. Above the star is the American flag. The rim of the plaque is divided into two pieces. The top piece reads, "National Democratic Convention," and the bottom reads, "Houston, Texas 1928."

    Joseph Taylor "Joe T." Robinson was born on August 16, 1872 in Lonoke County, Arkansas. In 1912, Robinson ran for governor and won. He went on to run for Vice President in the 1928 election, but was unsuccessful. He died of a heart attack on July 14, 1937.
