DescriptionA quilt made by African-American Arkansan Callie Mae Carter in the first half of the 20th century. This Double Wedding Ring quilt has a solid pink background with fabric that has been quilted to look like rings encircling each other. The points where the rings intercept are covered in four diamonds, two yellow and two blue. The yellow diamonds are on the top and bottom, and the blue are on the left and rights sides. Inside each ring is an embroider design of a circle with four petals. The design is modified in the smaller rings where only two petals can fit the area.
