DescriptionA black and white photograph of John F. Kennedy. This photograph was taken on October 3, 1963 at the Arkansas State Fair and Livestock Show in Little Rock, after Kennedy gave a speech discussing his vision for an economically prosperous "New South". The speech was given a few months before Kennedy was assasinated. Kennedy is on a stage with former Governor Orville Faubus, former Senator John McClellan, former Senator William Fulbright, and former Congressman Wilbur Mills.

John Fitzgerald "JF" Kennedy was born on May 29, 1917 in Brookline, Massachusetts. After serving in the United States Navy, Kennedy began his political career in the United States House of Representatives. He was elected Thirty-Fifth President of the United States in 1961 and served until his assassination in 1963. He is most widely known for his establishment of the Peace Corps, the building of the Berlin Wall, and the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. He married his wife, Jacqueline, in 1953 and the pair had four children. Kennedy passed away on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas, after he was shot while traveling in a presidential motorcade.
