    DescriptionAn original script from the television series “Evening Shade”, starring Burt Reynolds and produced by Mozark Productions, a joint production company created by Arkansas native Harry Thomason and his wife, Linda Bloodworth-Thomason. The script is for episode number 3605 and is entitled “The Diary of Molly Newton”, which is dated August 20, 1992. It is comprised of almost one hundred pages of multicolored paper held together by two brass brads and features the show script as well as production notes, contact information, and correspondence. Text on the cover page reads “Evening Shade”, “The Diary of Molly Newton”, “#3605”, “Show #2”, “Final Draft”, “August 20, 1992”, and “A Production of CBS Entertainment Productions In Association with Mozark Productions and MTM Enterprises, Inc.”.

    Evening Shade is a television series that aired on CBS from 1990 to 1994. The series stars Burt Reynolds as Wood Newton, a former professional football player for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The series follows Newton as he returns to his hometown of Evening Shade, Arkansas, to coach the high school football team and depicts small town life. Evening Shade is located in Sharp County, in the North East corner of Arkansas. The opening segment included clips of Arkansas locations such as South Patterson Street and McClard’s Bar-be-que on Albert Pike Boulevard in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The television series featured fellow Arkansas native Billy Bob Thornton as a guest star.

    Harry Thomason, director of “Evening Shade”, was born in Hampton, Arkansas in 1940. Thomason is a writer, producer, and director. He wrote and directed “The Hunting of the President”, and produced and directed the television series “Evening Shade”, and “Designing Women”. He was nominated for four primetime Emmys for his work on “Designing Women.”
