DescriptionA license plate from the Rockefeller/Britt campaign for Arkansas Governor and Lieutenant Governor in 1966. The license plate is white and green with "Rockefeller", "Britt", and "for Arkansas" printed on it as well as Winthrop Rockefeller's symbol. Rockefeller won the election and he and Maurice Lee Britt went on to serve as Governor and Lieutenant Governor from 1967 to 1971.

Winthrop Rockefeller was born on May 1, 1912 in New York City, New York. His grandfather, John D. Rockefeller, was the founder of Standard Oil Company. Rockefeller moved to Morrilton, Arkansas in 1953, founding Winrock Farms and entering into state politics shortly thereafter. In 1955, Governor Orval Faubus named Rockefeller to the Arkansas Industrial Development Commission. Rockefeller lost the 1964 Governor's election to Faubus before becoming the thirty-seventh governor of Arkansas in 1967. He was reelected in 1969. Rockefeller died of pancreatic cancer on February 22, 1973, in Palm Springs, California.
