In 2007, he wrote, produced, and directed his first film, "Shotgun Stories." He wrote and directed the film "Take Shelter" in 2011. His latest film, "Mud," was shown at the Cannes Film Festival and the Sundance Film Festival in 2012 and will open in theaters in 2013. Two of his three films are set in Arkansas.
