DescriptionLobby card for the movie "Creature from the Black Lagoon," starring Little Rock native Julie Adams in her most famous role as Kay Lawrence.Julie Adams was born Betty Adams on October 17, 1926, in Waterloo, Iowa, but grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas. She is a film and television actress who is best known for her role in the film “The Creature from the Black Lagoon." She attended Little Rock Junior College (now the University of Arkansas at Little Rock). She changed her name to Julie Adams when she started working for Universal Pictures in 1949. She has appeared in over 100 films and TV series.
The card features an image of Adams swimming in a white bikini with the Creature looking down at her. The title of the movie is printed in white blocked letters across the middle of the card. In each right-hand corners are two smaller images. The upper corner shows a boat with divers being lowered into the water. The lower corner shows Adams being embraced by lead actor Richard Carlson. The movie was produced by Universal Pictures Co. in 1954.
