DescriptionPublicity photograph of Hal Needham on the set of Stroker Ace. He was raised in El Dorado (Union County), Georgetown (White County), Pangburn (White County), and West Helena (Phillips County), Arkansas. Hal Needham is a stuntman, stunt coordinator, writer, and director who is considered a pioneer in the stunt industry. He has directed several films such as Smokey and the Bandit, Smokey and the Bandit II, Stroker Ace, Cannonball Run, Cannonball Run II, and Hooper. Needham has performed stunts in many films and television shows, and many of the stunt techniques and equipment he introduced are still in use today.
The black and white image features Needham seated behind a production camera wearing a cowboy hat, sunglasses, collared shirt, and pants. He is holding a cigarette in his right hand and is smiling. Stroker Ace was produced by Universal Pictures and Warner Bros. in 1983.
