Glen Campbell (1936- ) was born in Billstown, near Delight, in Pike County, Arkansas. He is a country music singer, television host, and actor. Campbell left Arkansas as a teenager to pursue a career in music. He appeared in 14 films and TV series. He is best known as an actor for his role in the 1969 movie "True Grit" and as the host of the TV variety show “The Glen Campbell Good Time Hour" (1969-1971). "True Grit" co-star John Wayne is said to have handpicked Campbell for the role. Campbell was nominated for two Golden Globes for his performances in “True Grit” and “The Glen Campbell Good Time Hour.”
