DescriptionScrapbook with Alan Ladd movie memorabilia. Ladd was born in Hot Springs. The scrapbook was kept by the president of Ladd's fan club.Alan Ladd was born September 3, 1913, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and lived in Arkansas until around the age of five. He was an American actor who appeared in over 80 films and was one of the most recognizable celebrities of the 1940s and '50s. He starred in such films as "Two Years before the Mast," "The Blue Dahlia," and "The Great Gatsby." However, Ladd is perhaps best known for his role in the 1953 western movie "Shane." Ladd died on January 29, 1964.
Large cream-colored, leather-bound scrapbook with Alan Ladd movie memorabilia. Kept by the president of his fan club. The book is bound with heavy string. Gold detail on cover with the words "Scrap Book". The scrapbook contains pages of photographs and cut-outs from magazines and newspapers. Most of the images are labled. There are loose pieces of the scrapbook that have been accessioned separately.
