    DescriptionOwned and used by James “Jimmy” Polk (1889-1910) son of Spencer Polk. Jimmy was killed after an argument with a train engineer in South West Arkansas. Following his death, the Polk family was able to recover Jimmy’s trunk and his personal belongings. 

    Wooden painted black travel trunk. There are stamped tin panels that have been painted gold on both sides and lid of the trunk. Greeting card with a picture of two dogs inside the lid. Wood frame with stamped tin fittings. Four wheels on the bottom. Original leather handle on one end.
