DescriptionArkansas scrip. Two dollar note from Monte Ne, Arkansas. Rothert number is unlisted. Serial number: 249. Signed by W.H. Harvey, C.A. Baccon (Monte Ne Mercantile Co.). Tan paper with black print and green accents.
W.H. "Coin" Harvey founded and promoted Monte Ne. Harvey bought goods and issued payment in scrip and then paid in money once the product was sold. This is considered rare due to the "Panic of 1907" and following depression of 1908.
