    Jay C. Flippen was born March 6, 1899 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was a character actor who often played sheriffs or criminals starring both in television and films from the 1940s to 1960s. He appeared in over 100 films and television series. Flippen died February 3, 1971.

    The photo shows Jane Fonda and Flippen facing each other. Flippen is wearing a sheriff's badge. There are several men in the background watching.
