DescriptionA lobby card from the movie "Look-Out Sister," starring Brinkley native Louis Jordan. The card has a yellow background with a black and white scene from the movie in the center: the scene shows people dancing and playing music. The image has a blue border on the left and bottom sides of the image. To the left of the scene is a cut-out image of Jordan wearing cowboy attire (a white cowboy hat, a red plaid shirt, a white neckerchief, and a gun holster) and holding two pistols. "Louis Jordan" is printed in black above the image; "Look-Out Sister" is printed in red lettering below the image. There are red and blue stars, musical notes, and other symbols spread sporadically on the card.Louis Jordan was born July 8, 1908 in Brinkley, Arkansas. He was an African-American musician, singer and song writer. He briefly attended Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock, majoring in music. Although he could play a variety of instruments, he was best known for his saxophone playing and was nicknamed "The King of the Jukebox." He appeared in and sang in a number of movies over the years. Jordan died February 4, 1975.
