Conway Twitty was born Harold Jenkins on Sept. 1, 1933, in the small town of Friars Point, Miss. His father, a riverboat pilot, taught him his first guitar chords when Conway was just 4 years old. From a black church in the town, he heard the sounds of gospel, and every Saturday night the family gathered around the radio for the Grand Ole Opry. His family moved to Helena, Ark., when he was 10, and there he put together his first band, the Phillips County Ramblers. Two years later, he had his own local radio show every Saturday morning.
A Conway Twitty album entitled "Conway Twitty By Heart". The album cover features a photograph of Twitty wearing a collared shirt and sweater. The background of the album is white. "Conway Twitty By Heart" is placed within a wooden carved heart. Beneath the heart, a list of songs has been placed. The album was produced by Warner Bros Records in 1984.
