This was a personal copy of General Joseph A. Reeves', former commander of the Hugh McCollum U.C.V. Camp, No. 778 (Camden, Arkansas). Reeves enlisted with the Confederates on May 24, 1861 and served in Co. H, 6th Arkansas Regiment. The rank of general was probably taken after the war. He died October 12, 1912 and is buried in Camden, Arkansas.
